Well we had a nice run and think there were alot of positive things that happened this summer. This last tourney we just ran out of gas. Victor has a flu bug and stayed at the hotel. Mike was with us but coming off of 2 days with a flu bug and was probably at 60%. We played the portland hoop kings and they just put a beating on us. We took them to OT. down by 10 at the half made a great come back and then couldn't hit a shot and unforced TO's made the difference. I don't put much stock in this game.
Overall we should feel great about our summer. ALl four seniors have received scholarship offers, Wade Moyer to Highline community college in Washington,Cam to a
D2 in South dakota (agustina?) and had some D1 offers after he signed, and Ben and AJ have some offers from some national JC's, local comunity colleges and a D1 offer from Houston Baptist. In total probably $750,000.00.
Our juniors got some valuable experience and exposure as well. I have seen improvement from each.
We are off to knotts Berry farm tomorrow probably to the beach for a bit on friday then to the Las Vegas airport. Our flight is at 8:20 may try to get out eralier depending on the cost to change tickets. I am assumng it will be too much! the flight is about 20% on time so remember to check the flight status before you pick up you son. Will let you know if we can get out ealier

Went to the beach for an hour or so was very nice had a great time. If any of you have an extra $8-15 million laying around let me know and with my $100.00 we can be partners in some manhattan beach property. This weekend the beach will have 50,000 spectators for a big tourney.
We play at 5:45pm tonight we were the second seed for our pool and we will ply in the gold division. 5 wins and we are the champions. If we win we play at 8:15 tonight, if we win we play at 4:30 tomorrow, if we win we play at 8:15 pm tomorrow if we win we play in the championship at 11:30 am on friday. We fly out at 8:20 from Vegas however that flihgt has only a 20% on time rating I have been on it many times and often it is late delayed or cancelled. Depending on the load taking a bump may also be an option if they are over booked. Let me know if you have any questions.
If we end up losing tonight we will most likely go to knotts berry farm tomorrow.

Game #3 win by 17 2-1 coaches rant
Despite the fact that we won by 17, the coach went on an adjetive laced-tirade with a 10 point lead................. allow me to expound!! We were playing a high school team that had not a player over 6-2. They had no quickness and played with average effort. They would have been in fact are a poor high school team.
We didn't shoot great too many UNFORCED TO's etc. My tirade was because of the effort. Excuses aside we just did not bring it. We have everything in the world to prove and we did not play with proper effort, focus and passion. It is "bigger" than just winning and losing. It has to do with how you approach the game how you prepare and the pride you take in your effort regardless of te score up by 50 or down by 50. It is respect for the game. The surprising thing is that this is why we are playing. We are doing so to PROVE ourselves to the college coaches that are here to watch. to try to catch their eye. There are thousands of kids trying to earn a scholarship or get on a list so it shocks me to see guys kinda go through the motions. Allow me to distinguish the difference between playing poorly and with not enough effort. I was grumpy dropped them off at the Home Town Buffet after the game and I just walked back to the hotel.
Now for the good. Ben had 13 rebounds Zach had 11. Scoring was spread out well( i left the stats in the van) everyone scored. Mike seems to be feeling a bit better but his wind leaves him quickly. We will most likely be in the Gold division bracket as 2nd place in our pool. Looks like we will play at 5:45pm tomorrow. We may end up playing the hoopkings from portland if they took 2nd in their brackets

1-1 game #2 win
We played a not very good team and won. Didn't play really well 20 to's most unforced. We won by 12 should have been 25. Mike Moyer is sick and has not realy been able to play the last couple games and I think that makes a huge difference. We really miss is toughness and ability to guard a 6-8 guy or a 6-0 guard. There are plyers tht do a lot of little things that may not show up in the stats. If we have mike we win game 1 and game 2 is a 20+ point game. It is clear and nice here more blogging after tonights game most likely we will be in the gold bracket as we should be the 2nd place team from our pool.
